S. Nadeem Ahsan, MD
As Director of Einstein Pain Institute, Dr. Ahsan is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of evidence-based, guideline-driven patient care plans utilizing advanced treatment modalities for a wide range of chronic pain conditions including axial and radicular pain, back pain, repetitive stress disorders, headaches, neuropathies and complex regional pain syndromes.
Dr. Ahsan is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain management, having completed his residency training in clinical anesthesiology and fellowship training in pain management at Albert Einstein Medical Center. He has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex pain syndromes utilizing fluoroscopically guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedural interventions. Dr. Ahsan has special interest in intra-thecal therapy, spinal cord stimulation and peripheral electro-neuromodulations for the treatment of intractable pain and syndromes.
An avid oarsman, Dr. Ahsan has rowed at both national and international levels. His present hobbies include literature and photography. Dr. Ahsan is married and has two daughters.

Deepak Mehrotra, MD
Dr. Deepak Mehrotra completed his Anesthesiology Residency and fellowship in Obstetrical Anesthesia from the University of Louisville in 1980 and moved to Louisiana where he was in private practice until the summer of 2000. In order to understand emerging concepts of providing high quality medical care with limited resources and enhancing patient satisfaction, he completed an executive MBA from LSU. In July of 2000 he followed his kids and moved to the Philadelphia area where he did another fellowship and Board Certification in Pain Medicine at Temple University.
Dr. Mehrotra joined the staff of Albert Einstein Medical Center in 2001 where he has practiced Interventional Pain Medicine using diagnostic as well as therapeutic techniques. His area of expertise is in the management of Spine Pain and RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). He also likes to lecture and teach physicians in training about pain management issues. He regularly attends national meetings to keep abreast of cutting edge medical issues.
He is married with three children. One of his children is a Physician at Thomas Jefferson Medical School. In his spare time he prefers spending time with his family. He enjoys reading, music and spending time at the gym.
